After the Review Panel’s recommendations are voted through by Stroud District Council, the far-right group Britain First issues a call to its members to demand that the council ‘reverse their woke decision and leave our history alone’. An online form is set up to send direct emails to members of the ‘ultra-woke Labour-led council’ and over 400 complaints are received overnight.
The next day, Stroud District Council publishes a press release to ‘clarify that there are no immediate plans to remove the Black Boy clock and statue’.
